It’s easy to spend lots and lots of money on boxwood. We did a project last spring that ended up being around $40,000 total – a quarter of that was boxwood! They’re super slow growing and require a lot of attention, and that carries through to the price tag.
Winter Gem boxwood, though, is a much more affordably priced variety. Fairly quick growing to 4-5 ft tall and wide, it has a rounded leaf and a “looser” look than many other varieties. They’ll still take shearing to give you a nice, tight formal look but they also look outstanding left to grow a little messy.
Deer tend to hate boxwood, which is one more reason to love them.
Sold in 7 gallon containers.
