A Lush Backyard Retreat in Willowsford
Some of my favorite projects include these Willowsford landscape design and installations. This first project included extensive plantings around a new pavilion and patio. Our clients were looking for lush plantings to soften the new construction and we had a blast doing it.

The clients were looking for a water feature to make their Willowsford landscape design special. These columns from Russell Watergardens added a vertical element, and the soft splash of the water in the columns makes this a relaxing backyard paradise.

One particularly challenging area was the steep transition from the driveway to the backyard. As usual, Juan did an amazing job constructing these drystacked fieldstone walls and slab steps.

Another Willowsford Landscape Design
The challenges that this Willowsford landscape design project presented were a lot of fun to overcome. Our homeowners wanted a LOT of function in a small space: outdoor kitchen, firepit, pergola, and all in a space that didn’t feel like a huge block of hardscape.

As you can see, the pergola tucks neatly into the surrounding plants. The cedar back panel helps create an intimate dining area even when the neighbors are close by.
This custom outdoor kitchen features a Blackstone grill, an egg smoker, and ample storage.
A few steps take you down to the firepit patio, tucking this entertaining area into a lower portion of the yard. It also allows for a retaining wall that doubles as overflow seating.

We even upgraded the existing back porch! We couldn’t vault the ceiling due to the way the home was constructed so we did the next best thing. Additionally, we got rid of the flat, boring, builder-grade ceiling and built a set of faux beams. We then painted the ceiling a dark color (Sherwin Williams Iron Ore) to make the ceiling appear higher. The porch is finished off with a new gas fireplace.
