Containers for residential spaces
I was contacted by a Reston landscape design client who was hosting her daughter’s wedding at their home. As is typical for Reston, the yard was full of mature trees casting a ton of shade. Flowering plants would have a tough go of it in the ground, so I spent several days pulling together unusual planters. A few bales of potting mix and a LOT of plants later, we had a gorgeous setting.
This is another container we created for the Reston wedding project. This one sat right outside the front door, lighting up the shadiest spot in the yard.

Our work with Old House Vineyards presented a challenge: what can you plant in a concrete wok bowl in full sun, that may not always get watered regularly? A mix of heat and drought tolerant annuals provided a great seasonal planting.
